Therapeutic Tourism
Our work, our commitments, and our relationships are guided by the principles of Inkan Law — a code that governed one of the most sophisticated civilizations in human history.
Ama Q’ella — Ama Llulla — Ama Sua
Inkan Law
Never lazy — Never liar — Never thief
1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an application, making a booking, completing a payment, or otherwise engaging with Therapeutic Tourism services, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
These Terms apply to all services offered by Therapeutic Tourism, including Guided Journeys (Individual, Couples, Friends, Family, and Adolescents), Experiences (Day Trips, Packages, Expeditions, and Experiential programs), and any other service contracted through any available means.
Therapeutic Tourism reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The current version will always be published on the website. Continued use of our services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Nature of Services
Therapeutic Tourism is an educational, experiential, travel-related, cultural, wellness-oriented, and personal development organization operating through the Inka Method — a proprietary framework for relearning life through history, science, and simplicity.
Therapeutic Tourism is not a hospital, clinic, healthcare provider, psychological practice, psychiatric provider, or counseling service. The services described in these Terms do not constitute medical treatment, psychotherapy, psychology, psychiatry, diagnosis, prescription, or any regulated healthcare activity. Nothing in these Terms or in the delivery of services creates a physician-patient, therapist-client, or any comparable regulated professional relationship.
Participants remain solely responsible for their personal health decisions and for obtaining any professional medical, psychological, or healthcare advice they may require before, during, or after participation in any service.
3. Application Process — Guided Journeys
3.1 Application Requirement
Access to Guided Journey services requires the submission of a completed application through the designated application process on the Therapeutic Tourism website. The application is not a booking — it is the first phase of the service, during which Therapeutic Tourism evaluates the participant’s context and designs a personalized journey proposal.
Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into a Guided Journey. Therapeutic Tourism reserves the right to approve, decline, postpone, or discontinue any application at its discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.
3.2 Application Fee
A one-time, non-refundable application fee is required to open the Guided Journey process. This fee covers the assessment, context evaluation, and journey design work carried out by our team, regardless of whether the participant proceeds with the journey following receipt of the proposal.
The application fee amount varies by journey type and is displayed on the relevant application page at the time of submission.
3.3 Journey Proposal
Upon completion of the application process, Therapeutic Tourism will prepare a personalized journey proposal based on the information provided. This proposal will outline the recommended journey structure, environments, duration, and associated costs. The participant may accept, request adjustments to, or decline the proposal. A declined proposal does not entitle the participant to a refund of the application fee.
3.4 Journey Confirmation
A Guided Journey is confirmed upon the participant’s acceptance of the journey proposal and receipt of the required deposit or full payment as specified in the proposal. Therapeutic Tourism will confirm the journey in writing within 48 hours of receiving the required payment.
4. Booking — Experiences
4.1 Booking Confirmation
Bookings for Experience services (Day Trips, Packages, Expeditions, and Experiential programs) are processed upon receipt of participant personal details and payment of 50% or the full amount, depending on the participant’s selection. Personal details required include full name, passport number, nationality, date of birth, and gender. This information is required to secure entrance fees, transportation, and related reservations.
Therapeutic Tourism will confirm the booking within 48 hours of receiving all required information and payment.
4.2 Balance Payment
The full balance of an Experience service is due 90 days before the service commences. Where a booking is made fewer than 90 days before the commencement date, full payment is due within five days of booking confirmation. For Participatory Tourism and Experiential programs, payment in full may be required in cash one day prior to the commencement of services in Cusco.
5. Pricing
All prices published on the Therapeutic Tourism website are quoted in US Dollars (USD) and are subject to change without prior notice until a booking or application is confirmed.
Published prices for Experience packages include 4-star hotel accommodation where applicable. In locations where 4-star accommodation is not available, lodges or family homes may be provided as described in the program details. Accommodation pricing is based on standard room configurations — single room for one guest, double or matrimonial room for two guests, and so on. Non-standard accommodation requirements must be communicated at the time of booking and may result in price adjustments.
Guided Journey pricing is provided within the personalized journey proposal and reflects the specific design of the individual experience. Prices for Guided Journeys may vary between proposals and are not subject to comparison with published Experience pricing.
If a journey or booking crosses calendar years, prices may be subject to adjustment in accordance with the updated pricing policies of third-party suppliers, including transportation providers, accommodation providers, and entrance fee authorities.
6. Payment
Therapeutic Tourism accepts payment by the methods specified on the website at the time of booking or application. Payments are processed securely through the available payment platforms.
All payments must be made in US Dollars unless otherwise specified in the journey proposal or booking confirmation.
Application fees are processed at the time of application submission and are non-refundable under any circumstances.
Deposit payments for Guided Journeys and Experience bookings are non-refundable except as described in the Cancellation Policy in Section 8.
7. Changes to Confirmed Bookings or Journeys
Once a booking or Guided Journey is confirmed, any changes requested by the participant — including dates, itinerary, accommodation, or group composition — will be subject to an administrative fee and may result in price adjustments based on availability and third-party supplier policies. Therapeutic Tourism cannot guarantee the availability of the same accommodation, transportation, or entrance allocations following a change request.
Change requests must be submitted in writing to the contacts provided in these Terms. Therapeutic Tourism will make reasonable efforts to accommodate change requests but does not guarantee that all changes can be implemented.
8. Postponement
Therapeutic Tourism understands that unforeseen circumstances may prevent participants from proceeding on the originally confirmed dates. Written notice of a desire to postpone must be received at least 60 days prior to the commencement of the service.
Where postponement is approved, the paid balance — less an administrative fee of USD 700 and any non-refundable expenses already incurred on behalf of the participant — will be applied toward a rescheduled date within 365 days of the original commencement date. Non-refundable expenses may include train reservations, hotel deposits, entrance fees, and similar third-party commitments.
Postponement requests received fewer than 60 days prior to commencement are treated as cancellations under the Cancellation Policy.
9. Cancellation and Refund Policy
9.1 Cancellation by Participant
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Therapeutic Tourism at the contact addresses provided in these Terms.
The following cancellation policy applies to Experience services:
- Cancellation 45 or more days prior to commencement: administrative expenses and non-refundable third-party costs are deducted; remaining balance may be refunded at Therapeutic Tourism’s discretion
- Cancellation fewer than 45 days prior to commencement, including no-shows: no refund
For Guided Journey services, the application fee is non-refundable in all circumstances. The following applies to the journey balance:
- Cancellation 60 or more days prior to commencement: deposit is non-refundable; remaining balance less non-refundable expenses may be refunded at Therapeutic Tourism’s discretion
- Cancellation fewer than 60 days prior to commencement: no refund of any amount paid
Once a service has commenced, no refunds will be provided for any unused portion of the service, including pre- or post-trip arrangements, accommodation, or activities missed due to delays or late arrival.
9.2 Dissatisfaction During Service
If a participant is dissatisfied with any aspect of the service during its delivery, they must notify Therapeutic Tourism immediately so that the matter can be addressed. No refunds will be provided once a service has been completed.
9.3 Cancellation by Therapeutic Tourism
Therapeutic Tourism reserves the right to cancel, modify, or discontinue any service at any time due to circumstances beyond its control, insufficient participant numbers, safety concerns, or operational necessity. In the event of cancellation by Therapeutic Tourism, participants will be offered a full refund of amounts paid or the option to reschedule, at their discretion. Therapeutic Tourism’s liability in such cases is limited to the amounts paid by the participant and does not extend to additional costs such as flights, visas, travel insurance, or other independent expenses.
10. Force Majeure
Therapeutic Tourism shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the delivery of services resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather events, earthquakes, flooding, volcanic activity, pandemics, epidemics, government actions or restrictions, civil unrest, strikes, transportation disruptions, infrastructure failures, or any other event of force majeure.
In force majeure circumstances, Therapeutic Tourism will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected services or offer alternative arrangements. Where rescheduling is not possible, refunds will be limited to amounts recoverable from third-party suppliers. Therapeutic Tourism does not accept liability for independent costs incurred by participants as a result of force majeure events.
11. Accommodation
Experience packages include accommodation as described in the published program details. Where 4-star hotels are not available in the program locations, accommodation will be provided in lodges or family homes. Lodge and family home accommodation is appropriate for the environment and purpose of the program and reflects the experiential nature of the service. Participants who require upgraded accommodation must notify Therapeutic Tourism at the time of booking; additional costs will apply.
Guided Journey accommodation is specified within the personalized journey proposal. Accommodation for Guided Journeys is selected based on the participant’s context, preferences, and the therapeutic purpose of the experience.
Therapeutic Tourism does not guarantee the availability of specific hotels or accommodation providers. In the event that confirmed accommodation becomes unavailable, Therapeutic Tourism will arrange equivalent alternatives without additional cost to the participant.
12. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are solely responsible for ensuring they hold valid travel documents including passports, visas, and tourist cards as required for entry into Peru and any other destination included in their service. Participants are also responsible for complying with any vaccination or health requirements applicable to their travel.
Participants must disclose any physical, medical, or health conditions that may be relevant to their participation in the service, including conditions that may affect their ability to participate in physical activities, travel to altitude, or engage with specific environments. Therapeutic Tourism reserves the right to modify or decline a service where undisclosed health conditions present a risk to the participant or others.
Participants are responsible for their own conduct throughout the duration of the service. Therapeutic Tourism reserves the right to remove any participant from a service without refund if their behaviour is deemed disruptive, harmful, or incompatible with the nature of the experience.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all participants and required for all Expeditions and multi-day Experiential programs. Therapeutic Tourism does not provide travel insurance and accepts no liability for costs arising from medical emergencies, evacuation, loss of property, flight cancellations, or other incidents that would ordinarily be covered by travel insurance.
13. Participation of Minors — Adolescents Journey
The Adolescents Journey is the only Therapeutic Tourism service designed for participants under the age of 18. All other services are intended for adults aged 18 and over.
For the Adolescents Journey, the application must be submitted by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult representative. The parent or guardian is solely responsible for the accuracy of information provided, for authorizing the minor’s participation, and for ensuring that the minor holds all required travel documents.
The parent or guardian acknowledges that the therapeutic and educational design of the Adolescents Journey is delivered in the context of an experiential travel program guided by the Inka Method, and not as a form of medical, psychological, or clinical treatment.
Minors traveling on any other Therapeutic Tourism service must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Documentation of parental authorization may be required by transportation providers, entrance authorities, or the Peruvian government.
14. Intellectual Property and Content
All content generated, developed, captured, or produced within the context of Therapeutic Tourism services — including photographs, videos, audio recordings, written materials, journey frameworks, methodological documentation, curriculum content, ideas, concepts, and any other creative or intellectual output produced as part of the delivery of services — is and remains the exclusive property of Therapeutic Tourism.
This applies to content captured during journeys, expeditions, assessments, consultations, workshops, events, and any other service context, whether produced by Therapeutic Tourism personnel, independent contractors, commercial partners, or through collaborative processes involving participants.
Therapeutic Tourism has the right to use and publish content from services — including photographs, text, and quotations — for operational, educational, and promotional purposes. Where such content includes identifiable images of participants, Therapeutic Tourism will seek appropriate consent.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute, publish, transmit, or commercially exploit Therapeutic Tourism content — including but not limited to materials related to the Inka Method — without prior written authorization. Unauthorized use of Therapeutic Tourism intellectual property may result in legal action.
15. The Inka Method — Proprietary Framework
The Inka Method is a proprietary educational and experiential framework developed exclusively by Therapeutic Tourism. It is protected as intellectual property and may not be reproduced, adapted, taught, licensed, or applied in any context outside of Therapeutic Tourism services without express written authorization.
The Inka Method is delivered through the personal, non-transferable service contracted by the participant. Participation in a service that includes the Inka Method does not confer any right to use, teach, or replicate the framework independently.
16. Third-Party Providers and Commercial Partners
Certain services involve independent third-party providers including transportation companies, accommodation providers, entrance fee authorities, local guides, activity operators, and other specialized service providers. These providers operate independently and are solely responsible for the services they deliver.
In certain contexts, services may be delivered in coordination with commercial partners or affiliated organizations and may be presented under the partner’s brand or operational identity, in order to ensure appropriate delivery and participant discretion. This arrangement does not alter the nature of the service or the protections provided under these Terms.
Therapeutic Tourism is not liable for the acts, omissions, negligence, or breaches of third-party providers. Any disputes or claims arising from third-party services must be directed to the relevant provider.
17. Limitation of Liability
Therapeutic Tourism’s liability to participants is limited to the amounts paid for the specific service in question. Therapeutic Tourism does not accept liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, loss of earnings, flight costs, visa fees, travel insurance costs, or other independent expenses incurred in connection with participation in a service.
Participation in Therapeutic Tourism services — including journeys involving physical activity, altitude, remote environments, and experiential engagement — involves inherent risks. Participants acknowledge these risks and accept sole responsibility for their physical and mental wellbeing throughout the service.
Therapeutic Tourism does not accept liability for personal injury, illness, accident, loss, damage to property, or death arising from participation in services, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable Peruvian law.
18. Health, Physical Conditions, and Altitude
Many Therapeutic Tourism services take place in the Andean highlands, including locations at significant altitude above sea level. Participants acknowledge the physical demands of high-altitude environments and confirm that they are in adequate health to participate in the activities described in their booked service or journey proposal.
Therapeutic Tourism strongly recommends that participants consult with a qualified medical professional before undertaking any service involving significant altitude, physical exertion, or extended time in remote environments. Therapeutic Tourism does not provide medical advice and is not responsible for altitude-related illness or other health incidents arising during services.
19. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all Therapeutic Tourism services and is required for Expeditions and multi-day Experiential programs. Participants are responsible for obtaining appropriate coverage including, but not limited to, medical emergency coverage, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, and loss or damage to personal property.
Therapeutic Tourism does not provide or arrange travel insurance on behalf of participants. The absence of travel insurance does not affect Therapeutic Tourism’s cancellation or refund policies.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Peru. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms or the services provided by Therapeutic Tourism shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cusco, Peru, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
